Pet Friendly Cabin in Starved Rock State Park
We had been looking to plan a trip to Starved Rock State Park for awhile. When Ryan’s Brother came to visit it seemed like the perfect reason to go as he shares our love of the outdoors. Starved Rock is fairly well known in that is it only 1.5-2 hours from Chicago and has such cool rock formations and waterfalls to explore. As per usual on our outdoor adventures, we wanted to bring our dog Memphis along. Authentic 1800’s Shawnee National Forest Cabin Rentals
I had left it a little last minute to plan our long weekend to Shawnee National Forest and was having a hard time finding a dog friendly cabin rental in the area. I had exhausted the usual rental sites and done a straight google search when I finally found the Olde Squat Inn. Illinois Beach State Park and Campground
We recently visited Illinois Beach State Park and Campground in Zion, IL for a summer camping weekend. We really enjoyed the beach and opportunities for fishing and as always appreciated being able to bring our dog along. At just an hour north of Chicago just south of the Wisconsin border you can’t beat the convenience of that location. We will share our experiences here of this well loved State Park. Dog Friendly Waterfront Resort in Door County
When we were looking on a place to stay for our most recent trip to Door County with the in-laws there were two priorities, dog-friendly and on the waterfront. We were initially looking into private rentals but did not find anything that was both up to our quality standards and within our budget. We ultimately found the Shallows Resort in Egg Harbor which fit both those criteria.
