Our Story

So many people want to travel more but they don’t know where to start. You wonder how you can you find your dream getaway that you can actually afford? We are here to share that it can be done, not just by famous or perfectly instagrammed people but by anyone who wants to.

Often people in our lives say things to us like “you seem like you are always on an adventure” or “how do you travel so much?” (and on social worker’s salaries no less) That is what we hope to share through this blog. All our tricks, tips and lessons learned trying to see the world and make every weekend a mini vacation.

We are a married couple  living in the suburbs of Chicago, IL and find adventures primarily in our own backyard, the beautiful and friendly midwestern United States.  We met working at an amazing summer camp for at-risk youth in Wisconsin that changed our lives both in meeting each other and in moving us towards our current work. We are lifelong travel lovers who started off our travels together with an amazing road trip from Wisconsin  to California and back followed by Lindsey’s first trip to visit Ryan in his hometown of Liverpool, England when we were together long distance. We continue to find adventures as often as we can as we cherish life with our international family and our dog.
