Michigan’s Upper Peninsula RV Trip
For my wonderful friend Krystle’s 30th Birthday (and surprise proposal!) we planned an epic springtime road trip to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. We found sitters for the pups and rented an RV and a trailer to pull their Jeep for the Memorial Day long weekend. The natural beauty was beyond what we even imagined and our first RV trip was both a fun adventure and definite success. We made the seven hour trip up from Chicago with an epic road trip playlist and stayed our first night pulled over at a surprisingly beautiful truck stop. The next morning we made our way to Jack Pine Lodge and Campground and set up…

Illinois Beach State Park and Campground
We recently visited Illinois Beach State Park and Campground in Zion, IL for a summer camping weekend. This is a pretty popular campground, full of lots of families. Somewhat because…

We had a lovely adventure camping on the river. Thomson Causeway Recreation Area We stayed at the Thomson Causeway Recreation Area in Thomson, IL. It is one of many camping areas on the Mississippi river that you can choose from. The site is run by the US Army Corps who keep it well taken care of and of course…

Camping: An old pastime for millions of people around the world, but where do you even start? I once heard that camping can be best described as ‘spending a small fortune to live like a homeless person’. I would have to disagree, I believe you can spend a reasonable amount of money and live like an outdoor king! You just have to prepare with the right supplies. The biggest of which will be your tent. Weather Resistant First we started out by discussing what was important to us in terms of being comfortable. Top of the list was a proven tent that can withstand the elements. We spent some time watching…
