Fuerteventura Elba Carlota Resort

The Canary Islands are a  popular European vacation locale. Located off the coast of Africa gives it nice sunny weather and plenty of beaches. We came together with family to meet up at the Elba Carlota Resort. It was an all-inclusive paradise for us to enjoy our time together and soak up the sun.

All-inclusive

The Elba Carlota is an all-inclusive resort. Once you are booked in all the food and drinks are included. The meals are served all day, buffet style, with a large and varied offerings from day to day. We were impressed with both the food and drink offerings that were included. Use of all of the facilities activities and all the entertainment are also included. We were well spoiled.

Beaches

The Elba Carlota is located right on the beach so you can walk right out the resort gates and right into the sun and sand. They have a section where they have created a barrier from the waves so they are calm waters. You can also rent Cabanas to get off the sand. We pooled our money to share one. In the middle of the two sides of the beach is a small boardwalk going out to a restaurant. We ate there one night as a family and I had the best Paella I have ever had in my life.

Pools

The Elba Carlota has two pools and plenty of beach chairs. We spent countless hours relaxing and soaking up the sun poolside. We could walk up to the outdoor bar for drinks and just pop inside for lunch in the dining room just inside the doors. The staff come around frequently to let you know what activities are about to go on. Otherwise, it’s just lovely sunshine, cool water and good conversation.

Entertainment

The Elba Carlota does a great job of having additional entertainment offerings at all times. They keep their schedules posted and have enough variety to have something for everyone. The staff run volleyball games, Zumba classes, and other group activities throughout the day. Our group particularly enjoyed getting in on the Volleyball games and things got pretty competitive. We enjoyed their evening entertainment almost every night which included musicians, acrobats and variety shows.  There is additionally a casino onsite  that offered a poker game that my father-in-law won. For an additional cost there is also a masseuse on staff.

Local Adventures

Fuerteventura is an island which is part of the Canary Islands. The Canary Islands are located off the coast of West Africa but are a part of Spain. Their main source of their Economy is the tourism to the island which means lots to do for visitors. If you go down to the beach you can walk a few minutes down the boardwalk down , which is enjoyable in and of itself. This will get you to various tourist shops and restaurants. If you go across the street in the opposite direction of  the beach there is the Fuertaventura Golf Club but I do hear it’s pretty pricey. The Elba Carlota is also conveniently located right next to a shopping mall with a grocery store in it. My favorite local attraction however was our visit to Lobos Island. We booked a Catamaran boat tour that took us there, gave you time to explore than took us back. Like the rest of the Canary Islands, Lobos Islands is a volcanic island and therefore has really great desert geography to explore. It’s small peaks offer great views of the Island and the Ocean.

We had a truly great family vacation at the Elba Carlota Resort. It was the perfect place to spend time together with family enjoying all that the resort had to offer.
